Privacy notice

What this site collects, who else handles it, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

okthink is the data controller for this site. We are Rafael Mendiola and Margaret Pieczkowski. Write to info@okthink.ai about anything on this page.

The contact form

The contact form collects your name, email address, message, and a company name if you add one. We use them to read your message and reply.

Messages go to a private channel in our Slack workspace. We do not store them anywhere else, add them to a mailing list, or share them.

The early-access list

The Firehose signup collects your email address and nothing else. Resend holds the list. We are notified of each signup by email and in Slack. We have not sent anything to this list yet. When we do, it will be to tell you Firehose is ready.

There is no unsubscribe link. To come off the list, write to info@okthink.ai and we will delete your record.

The Mexico City event list

The interest form on the AI Builders Meetup page collects your email address. Resend holds this list too, separately, and we use it only for that event. Joining sends you a welcome message and later updates as details are confirmed. Joining one list does not join you to the other.

That mail carries a List-Unsubscribe header, which some mail apps show as an unsubscribe button. It opens a message to us. There is no one-click link, so that route and writing to info@okthink.ai both reach a person who takes you off by hand.

If you come off and sign up again, we set your existing record back to subscribed rather than creating a second one.

Rate limiting

Each form endpoint reads your connection's IP address to cap submissions: three a minute on the contact form, five on each signup form. The address is held in memory, never written to disk, and gone when the server process recycles.

The time zone planner

The planner stores the cities you add and the settings you pick in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device. We never receive them. Clearing this site's data removes them.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and loads no analytics or tracking pixels.

One thing does come from elsewhere. The events page embeds a recorded talk, which loads from YouTube when you scroll to it. We use the youtube-nocookie.com player, so nothing is stored on your device unless you press play, but YouTube receives your IP address as soon as the player loads. The talk is linked as well as embedded, if you would rather open it there yourself.

Services we use

These are the only companies involved in anything you give us or load from us:

• Resend holds both mailing lists and sends our mail.
• Slack receives contact messages and signup notices.
• Netlify hosts the site and runs the form endpoints, and logs the page requested, the time, and your IP.
• YouTube serves the one embedded talk on the events page, and receives your IP when it loads.

All four are United States companies, as are we. If you write to us or join a list from outside the United States, your details are transferred there and handled under United States law.

We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to train models.

How long we keep it

Contact messages stay in Slack under that workspace's retention. Your address stays on a list until you ask us to remove it. Rate-limiting addresses are never stored.

Legal basis

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on consent for the mailing lists, which are opt-in and which you can leave by writing to us, and on legitimate interest for replying to messages and limiting form abuse.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, send you a copy, or stop using it. Under the GDPR these are the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection. Under the CCPA you have equivalent rights, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

Write to info@okthink.ai or use the contact form. We do not charge and we do not ask why. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Law enforcement

We will not hand over what we hold without a valid legal order. If we receive one, we will tell you unless the order forbids it.

Children

This notice covers okthink.ai. The site is about our products and how to reach us, and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything here from anyone under 16. If a child has sent us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

Our products run on their own sites under their own terms. Itsumo teaches languages and may well be used by younger learners. What it collects, and on what basis, is a matter for its own notice rather than this one.

Security

The site and its forms are served over HTTPS. We hold no accounts, passwords, or payment details.

Changes

If what the site collects or does with it changes, this page changes and the date at the top moves. We will tell the affected lists about significant changes.
